Clean hotel with very friendly staff. Microwave frig and keurig in room. Convenient location with many types of services nearby.
On 11/10 we came home to our house on fire. My mother-in-law and our 11 year old service dog were the only ones home when the fire started. My mother-in-law was in her room and smelled smoke. She walked into the living room and there was fire blazing towards her from our hallway! Thankfully she already had her phone in her hand, so she just called for our dog and ran out of the house. Thankfully no one was injured, but our home was a total loss, and there honestly are some "things" that can't be replaced like baby books, our children's baby teeth they lost over the years, photos of our kids when they were babies, not to mention my wife lost her father in February and the house belonged to him originally. So it was her "home", and she has nothing now that belonged to him. It has been devestating to say the least. More to the point, Red Cross finally called us after we watched our home burn to the ground, and gave us a debit card for us to rent a hotel for 2 nights and get the bare minimum things we had to have immediately. So my wife immediately starts calling hotels trying to find a decent room for myself, my wife, my mother-in-law, our 2 youngest daughters, and our dog. She explained our situation to every place she called and they either wouldn't allow all 5 of us to be in 1 room or they wouldn't allow our dog even though she is a service dog. Feeling completely hopeless and lost she pulled into the Holiday Inn Express. I told her I would go in and see if they could help us. The lady at the desk, Tonya was the first person of all the places my wife had already called, that truly cared about our situation and was more than willing to accommodate us. She even waived the fee for a rollaway bed and another very helpful lady brought it up to our room and gave us plenty of blankets and pillows. The room was very clean and roomy. It was very quiet, which after all the chaos we had already been through, it was greatly needed. I'm not sure of 2 of the ladies names that were very friendly and helpful, but Tonya and Todd were amazing. To not have a home anymore, it was truly like being at home and the staff treated us like family. We have been here 3 nights now, we rented a house today, so will be moving into our new place tomorrow. But we will never stay anywhere else! We have had the best experience we could have possibly had being here and my family and I are so grateful for the compassion and hospitality they all have shown us.
Location was very convenient for traveling I-40. My initial room was unacceptable, as was the second one. The staff was super helpful and understanding. The room I stayed in was very comfortable and cozy!
I stayed at this location this past Thursday. Got there late that night due to traveling all day from Arizona. The room had mildew by the tub and was not the cleanest. The hot water could not be regulated as it was scalding hot. My son could not take a shower. I tried calling the front desk several times with no answer. I even emailed the general manager once I got back to North Carolina. I still have not heard from her or anyone else. Very poor run hotel. I will try and find out the owners contact information. Will not stay there again. I chose this location because it looked clean and I frequent Holiday Inn Express for work.
Upgraded to a room with hot tub. Breakfast was continuously restocked. Typically comfortable HI bed.
